Since the incidents of teenage pregnancy is continuingly high, the healthcare problems of these mothers and their newborn still happen, for example, unwanted pregnancy, violence, child neglected, etc. These problems reflect failure in maternal role adaptation among teenage mothers. The center of excellence for teenage mothers is dedicated to provide education, research, academic services, and community service to prevent teenage pregnancy and to enhance the quality of care for teenage mothers and their family.

Department of Obstetric Gynecological nursing has policy to establish the center of excellence for teenage mothers for being a resource for education, research, academic services and community service for this target group. The goals of the center are to:

1. Be a center of health promotion and maternal role development for teenage mothers;
2. Develop excellence in care service for teenage mothers, their newborns and families;
3. Be a resource for education, research and disseminate the knowledge of health promotion and
   pregnancy prevention in teenage groups, and maternal role development in teenage mother.

The focus of the Center includes research, education, academic service and community service in Teenage mothers.

• Family planning for Teen mothers
• Health promotion in Teenage pregnancy and mothers
• Promoting transition to motherhood in teenage mothers
• Education
• Provide courses and seminar on topic of teenage pregnancy and mothers

• The community services arranged by our faculty members for teenage group include:
• Sexual health and STDs education program for teenage girls
• Childbirth education and parenting for teenage mothers
• Teen mother Hotline: Provide counseling for teenage mother and families on various issues related to pregnancy, parenting, and breastfeeding
